Sophie Turner’s Positive Outlook Following Day One of Joe Jonas’s Divorce Mediation
Sophie Turner displayed a cheerful disposition as she concluded the initial day of mediation proceedings with her estranged spouse, Joe Jonas, in pursuit of an amicable divorce.
The 27-year-old Game of Thrones star, Sophie Turner, was recently photographed wearing a smile as she exited a New York City office building on October 4. This marked her first day of divorce mediation, and she was seen leaving the financial district of Manhattan’s office premises. Afterward, she returned to one of Taylor Swift’s apartments in NYC, where she is said to be staying during this divorce process. Sophie appeared to be in good spirits following her participation in the mediation session alongside her estranged husband, 34-year-old Joe Jonas.
Notably, Joe Jonas, the singer of “Rollercoaster,” left the mediation center approximately two hours after Sophie. According to Daily Mail, Joe made an attempt to discreetly depart from the building by using a service driveway. He then entered the back seat of a black SUV and was driven away. The former couple, who share two daughters, Willa (3 years old) and Delphine (1 year old), have chosen mediation as a means to resolve their divorce and custody-related disputes.
Their divorce proceedings commenced on September 5, with Joe filing for divorce and requesting joint custody of their children. Later in the same month, Sophie initiated a lawsuit against the Jonas Brothers singer, alleging that he was withholding their daughters’ passports, preventing her from taking them to the U.K. Sophie, a British actress, asserted that they had previously agreed to make England their “forever home” before their separation.
In response to Sophie’s legal action, Joe’s representative issued an official statement to HollywoodLife on September 21, indicating that Sophie had been aware of Joe’s intention to file for divorce. The Florida Court had already issued an order preventing both parents from relocating the children, which Sophie was served with on September 6, 2023. Furthermore, the representative criticized Sophie for using the term “abduction” in her legal filing against the father of their children.
On September 25, Sophie and Joe reached an agreement to keep their children in New York City for the time being while they work through their divorce. A judge subsequently scheduled their custody trial for January 2. During a court hearing that neither of the stars attended, Sophie’s legal team urged the judge to expedite the trial due to her upcoming work project in England, set to begin in January.
Joe and Sophie, once considered one of Hollywood’s happiest couples, issued a joint statement on September 6, announcing their decision to end their marriage. They emphasized their unity in this choice and addressed the speculations surrounding their divorce, which occurred four years after their wedding.
